KPLC lists areas to face power cuts Sunday

The utility firm said that areas in four counties will face power cuts at diverse times between 8am and 5pm.

Kenya Power has announced areas across the country to face power interruption on Sunday April 27, 2025.

The utility firm said that areas in four counties will face power cuts at diverse times between 8 am and 5 pm.

The counties to be affected are Nairobi, Nyeri, Mombasa and Uasin Gishu.

The power interruption helps to facilitate system maintenance.

Nairobi

Parts of Nairobi will face power interruption from 9 am to 5 pm.

The areas are Grain Bulk, Syokimau Railway Station, Complast and adjacent customers.

Uasin Gishu

Areas in Uasin Gishu will face power interruption from 8 am to 5 pm.

The areas include Soy, Likuyani, Imbinga, Ivugwi, Lumino, Navilus, Kabobo Farm, Kipsomba, Tarakwa, Chemoset, Lugulu, Chemororoch, Furfural, Mawe Tatu, Nangili, Kongoni and adjacent customers.

Nyeri

Parts of Nyeri are set to face power interruption from 8 am to 5 pm.

The areas are Kahiga Market, Kahiga Village, Wariruta Market, Sagan Falls Village, Mathaithi, Mathaithi Secondary School, Mathaithi Special School, Tegu C/Fact, Githima Village, Gatomboya C/Fact, Tumutumu Hospital, Tumutumu Farm, Mbogo-ini, Ikonju, Karie C/Fact, Wakamata Village, Mungaria Village, Kiangoma Village, Kiamuthanga Market, Safaricom Boosters and Airtel Boosters.

Other areas in Nyeri to face power cuts from 8 am to 1 pm are whole of Nyeri Town, Kangemi, Asian Quarters, Witemere, Temple Road, Outspan Hospital, Golf Club, Kandara, Ring Road, Nyeri Polytechnic, Green Hills, Ngangarithi, Ciaraini, Muthuaini, Gitero, Kiandere, Wandumbi, Kagwathi, Kigogoini, Kirurumi, Ihwa, Kinunga, Kamakwa, Kamuyu, Ruring'u, Meeting Point, Thunguma, Skuta, Wambugu Farm, Micha, Chorong'i, Gatitu Market, Kagumo TTC, Kiamwathi, Wamagana, Kiandu, Giakanja, Makutano, Kaiguri, Gachatha, Kangubiri, Muthinga, Ithekahuno, Kangaita, Gichira, Kiawaithanji, Mutathiini, Muruguru, Marua FK Hotel, Kigera, and Githiru.

Other areas are Kiamuiru, Kirimara Farm, Seremwai, Le Pristine, King'ong'o Prison, Gamerock, Mt. Kenya Academy, Good Shepherd, Cocacola, Highlands, King'ong'o S/Center, Goodwood Farm, Garden Est, Kimathi University, Kiganjo Police, Kagumo High School, Kirichu, Ndurutu, Kiaganjo Market, Chaka, Nyaribo, Karundas, Mt.Kenya East, Maragima, Mbiriri, Ndathi, Kimahuri, Warazo Jet, Munyu, Blue Line, Mwicuiri, Soweto, Kamburaini, Naromoru Town, Gatuamba, Aguthi, Msafiri, Karicheni, Milimani and Kings Medical.

At the same time areas including Thung'are, Brookside, Kamatongu, Honi, Mwireri, Kiawara, Lamuria, Bellevue, Kabendera, Ruirie, Kariminu, Tanyai, Nairutia, Mugunda, Ngobit, Kariguini, Mahiga Meru, Matopeni, Sasini East, Baraka East, Waihenya East, Golden Gates, Major Seminary, Embassy, Kamwenja TTC, Ihururu, Ngoru, Muhoya, Njoguini, Kahigaini, Kihuyo, Matahri Hospital, KBC Nyeri Hill, Nyeri High School, Miagayuini, Juakali, Aberdare Country Club, Amboni, Bondeni, The Ark Hotel, Kanyagia, Babito, Mahiga, Sangare, Kabati, Endarasha, Mwiyogo, Embaringo, Charity, Pura, Kiamunyuru, Watuka and adjacent customers in Nyeri will be affected.

Mombasa

In Mombasa, the areas will face power cuts from 9 am to 5 pm.

They are  Pamba Road, Miracle Park, MICD, Kenya Railways, Cosole Base, Ligna, Total Depot, KMC, Uganda Properties, Kensalt, Bahati East, Changamwe Police, VTTI, Bangladesh and KTDA.
