

Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has thanked President William Ruto for yet again trusting him to lead the Ministry of Health.
In a statement, Duale said he is grateful for the confidence the Head of State has in him and that it was an honour to have him steer the Ministry of Environment for the months he was in charge.
“I am deeply grateful to H.E. President William Ruto for his trust and confidence in appointing me to lead the Ministry of Health. It has been an honour serving at the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change & Forestry, where we advanced key environmental and climate action policies,” he said.
He CS said that the prosperity of Kenya, just like any other country, depends on the heath of its people and that he is committed to working with all to strengthen healthcare in the country.
Duale said his priority will be to advance the Universal Health Coverage program to ensure equitable healthcare access to all.
“The prosperity of a nation depends on the health of its people. In my new role, I remain committed to working with relevant stakeholders in driving government policies that strengthen healthcare delivery, ensuring accessible and quality services for all Kenyans. A key priority will be advancing Universal Health Coverage (UHC) to guarantee equitable healthcare access, especially for vulnerable populations.
“Health is central to the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), and I look forward to fostering interministerial collaboration to enhance service delivery and improve lives across the nation,” the CS said.
This will be the third ministry Duale is taking charge of after serving as Defence and Environment, Climate Change and Forestry CS.
He was reassigned in changes made on Wednesday by President William Ruto.
In the changes, Deborah Barasa took over the Environment docket.
The President also nominated Mbeere North MP Geoffrey Ruku to be the new Public Service and Human Capital Development CS and Hanna Cheptumo as CS nominee for Gender, Culture, The Arts and Heritage.
This is the fourth time President William Ruto is making changes to his Cabinet, since becoming Head of State in 2022.
