The Nandi Textile Unit in Mosoriot is now fully operational as the county accelerates completion of key legacy projects.

Governor Stephen Sang has described the facility as a beacon of local excellence and a vital pillar of economic empowerment for the people of Nandi.

He said the project aligns with his administration’s broader transformative vision and is a world-class facility producing high-quality products.

“This is a key project in our plan to transform the economy of Nandi County and create jobs for our youth, while also equipping them with skills for self-employment,” Sang said.

The unit was conceptualised four years ago as part of the governor's commitment to industrialise Nandi and open up sustainable economic opportunities for residents.

Now establishing itself as the region’s leading manufacturer of premium garments, the facility has modern machinery, overseen by highly trained technicians and skilled local artisans. From the selection of superior, durable fabrics to the final finishing, each garment undergoes a strict quality control process.

The textile unit’s product line includes school and corporate uniform, vibrant cultural attire, ready-to-wear fashion and custom-made garments.

“The Nandi Textile Unit has the capacity, expertise and flexibility to deliver high-quality garments tailored to various needs,” Sang said.

James Too, a worker at the unit said the facility blends efficient production with a deep understanding of customer preferences and fashion trends. “Reliability and excellence are our hallmarks,” he added.

The unit has already attracted clients ranging from retailers and institutions to government agencies and individual customers who are drawn to its superior standards.

Residents, led by Paul Bett, have praised the governor for what they call a transformative project that is revitalising the local economy and improving livelihoods.

The unit employs hundreds of youth and maintains a close working relationship with the Rift Valley Textile Company in Eldoret—one of Kenya’s premier textile firms.

The Mosoriot-based facility is among several legacy projects planned for commissioning during an upcoming visit by President William Ruto to the region.
