Kenya Power staff at work/ FILE Kenya Power has listed areas set to face power interruptions on Wednesday, May 7, 2025.
The utility firm said areas in 10 counties will experience power disruptions at diverse times between 8am and 5pm.
The counties to be affected include Nairobi, Nakuru, Uasin Gishu, Nandi, Kakamega, Vihiga, Siaya, Nyeri, Kiambu and Kilifi.
The planned power cuts help to facilitate system maintenance.
Nairobi
Parts of Nairobi will face power interruption from 9am to 5pm.
They include Shauri Moyo AP Camp, Shauri Moyo Police Station, Link hotel and adjacent customers.
Other areas include ACK Road, Red Soil, Mwiki Township, Part of Maji Mazuri, Kenyatta Farm, Mwiki police station, Nyawai Secondary School and Mwiki Good Hope School.
Other parts in Nairobi to face power interruption include Moi Education Centre, School of the Blind, the whole of Wilson Airport, Sunshine, T-Mall, Skyline Mall, Shell Petrol Station, Rubis Petrol Station, Bethel S/Center, Uhuru Gardens, Jonathan Ngeno, Maasai Court, Breeze East and adjacent customers.
Nakuru
Parts of Nakuru will face power interruption from 9am to 5pm.
They are Nkoilale Market, Sekenani Market, Hotels Along Sekenani Talek, Talek Market and adjacent customers.
Uasin Gishu
Areas in Uasin Gishu will face power interruption from 10am to 4pm.
The areas include Bishop Birech, Wonifour, Katuiyo, Sirwo, Cheroroget, Mogobich, Rot-Tuga, Chepkongony, Tilol and adjacent customers.
Nandi
Areas in Nandi will face power cuts from 9am to 5pm.
They include Chepterit and adjacent customers.
Kakamega
Areas in Kakamega to face power cuts from 9am to 5pm include Panyako, Namakoyi, Sikubale, Harambe, Matungu, Khalaba, Ogallo Market, Koyomo, Munami and adjacent customers.
Vihiga
Parts of Vihiga to face power interruption include Ebuyangu, Ebukolo, Essaba, Epanga, Ekamanji, Luanda Town, DO Ebwiranyi, Asikote, Epali, Eibakala, Ubulondi, Radio Anyole, Emuyala and adjacent customers.
Siaya
Areas in Siaya to be affected by the planned power cuts are Sulwe East, Anduro, Achage, Randago, Usingo, Asere Bar, Ogongo Chief’s Camp, Mur Malanga, Matera, Ting Wangi, Ojwando, Nyajuok, Upanda and Achayi Rach.
Nyeri
Areas in Nyeri to face power interruption from 9am to 5pm include Mathia market, Kiriko Village, Kiaruhiu market, Kiaruhiu Primary School, Kiaruhiu police station, Chehe TBC, Gathaithi village, Karandi Village, Gitangaruri Village, Kianyaga Village, Kiangumara Village, Safaricom boosters, Airtel boosters and adjacent customers.
Kiambu
Parts of Kiambu to face power cuts from 9am to 5pm are Miguta, Gakoe, Ndathini, Kiambururu, Kanjai, Miguta Mission, Nyaga Polytechnic, Waruhiu farm, Kiairia police, Kiairia shopping centre, Kanjuku, Kamuchege Secondary and adjacent customers.
Kilifi
Areas in Kilifi will face power cuts from 9am to 2pm.
The areas are Watamu Village, Watamu police, Mawe Nzuri Resort, 7 Highlands, Peponi, Gede, Jiwe Jeupe, Blue Bay, Timboni and adjacent customers.
