The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced 2,014 teaching vacancies across the country to replace teachers who exited the service through natural attrition.

The recruitment targets 1,309 positions in primary schools, 32 in junior schools, and 673 in secondary schools.

In a notice published in the latest edition of MyGov, TSC stated that the new hires will be employed on permanent and pensionable terms.

“The teachers recruited will serve on Permanent and Pensionable terms of service,” read the statement.

To be eligible, applicants must be Kenyan citizens and registered teachers with the Commission.

Candidates applying for primary school positions must possess a P1 certificate, while those applying for junior or secondary school slots must hold at least a diploma in education, with a minimum of a C+ in KCSE and in two teaching subjects.

All applications must be submitted online via the TSC portal at www.tsc.go.ke or teachersonline.tsc.go.ke by midnight on Monday, 19th May 2025.

TSC emphasised that only online applications will be considered and warned against double submissions.

“Filling out two or more Application for Employment Forms will lead to disqualification,” the Commission cautioned.

Applicants who TSC has never employed will be given priority.

Additionally, persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply, per TSC’s commitment to equal opportunity employment.

TSC also issued a strong warning against fraudsters seeking to exploit applicants.

“The recruitment exercise is free of charge. The Teachers Service Commission forewarns applicants against fraudsters who might extort money from unsuspecting persons purporting to assist in recruitment,” the notice stated.

“Any suspicious activity should be reported to TSC or the police. Contact details for reporting include the Director Staffing at 0202892193, Deputy Director Staffing at 0202892131, or via email at [email protected],” TSC said.

Detailed information on available vacancies per county or school is available on the TSC website.
