At least six workers at a car wash were arrested on Saturday after they assaulted and killed an attendant at the facility in Kitengela, Kajiado.

The attendant, identified as Conald Kaiser, 23, was assaulted on claims he had stolen from the car wash.

Before he succumbed to the injuries, he was offered a mobile phone to call his brother, who stays in Ngong, about 20 kilometers away, to ask him to go for his rescue.

The brother rushed to the facility within Kitengela Township, where he found the deceased bleeding and being detained by workers at the car wash.

He sought to rush him to the hospital, but he succumbed to the injuries while on the way, police said.

The brother was forced to drive with the body to the Kitengela police station, where he made the report.

Police later visited the car wash and arrested six people, including attendants and guards who were on duty.

Police said the six are facing murder investigations and that they will be produced in court for miscellaneous application to detain them pending investigations. The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.

The incident was among mob lynching incidents reported to police so far.
