Harambee Stars head coach Benni McCarthy has named the first 11 players for today’s CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024 match against Morocco at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.

The kick-off is at 3:00 pm.

The 11 are: Shikhallo Faruk, Abud Omar, Mike Kibwage, Alpha Onyango, Austine Odhiambo, Lewis Bandi, Wesley Ogam, Ben Stanley Omondi, David Sakwa, Marvin Nabwire, Sylvester Owino.

The Subs are Bryne Omondi, Mohammed Siraji, Edward Omondi, Bonface Muchiri, Chrispine Erambo, Ayoub Mouloua, Manzur Okwaro, Daniel Sakari, Kevin Okumu, Sepstianos Wekesa, and Felix Oluoch.

"How we line-up," Harambee Stars tweeted.

Kenyans who missed out on the tickets can watch the match on big screens at Uhuru Park, Dandora Stadium, Jacaranda Grounds, Kasarani (behind Kasarani Stadium), Utalii (Stima Club) and DC Grounds in Kibera.

“Missed out on tickets? No problem! Come catch the CHAN 2024 Zambia vs Kenya game LIVE from our fan zones,” FKF said.

The move follows a directive from Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya after Kenya was hit with hefty penalties for fan indiscipline during last Sunday’s 1-0 win over Morocco.

The CS gave the directive after a high-level security meeting on Wednesday morning.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) indicted Kenya over continued security lapses despite previous sanctions.

During the Morocco match, gates were broken, ticketless fans forced their way in and breached restricted areas, including media zones.

CAF also criticised the use of teargas and stun grenades to control crowds, and the lack of adequate security personnel.

As a result, FKF was fined $50,000 (Sh6.45 million) and warned that further breaches could see Kenya’s matches relocated to other venues or a ban imposed on hosting home games.

Attendance for Sunday’s clash has been capped at 60 per cent of Kasarani’s capacity — 27,000 tickets — as part of the penalty.
