A man stabbed and killed his brother-in-law in a dramatic domestic quarrel in Chemundu, Baraton, Nandi county.

The suspect was confronted by the villagers and seriously injured before being rescued by the police.

He is under arrest following the Monday incident, police said.

According to police, the suspect had traveled to the home of his wife to pick his three children.

This is after his wife and the three children left the assailant’s home and relocated to their mother's ancestral home following a domestic dispute.

While at home, the man showed up armed with a knife and demanded to leave with the three children.

His brothers-in-law objected to the demands, prompting a confrontation.

It was then that one Geoffrey Kimutai, 34, was stabbed in the chest and died on the spot, witnesses and police said.

An alarm was raised, and villagers rushed to the scene before starting to beat him up.

Police rushed there and rescued him to the hospital, where he was admitted in stable condition but under arrest pending a probe and possible murder arraignment.

The body of the deceased man was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

Meanwhile, police in Mayenya, Kisumu county are investigating the lynching of a suspect along Rabuor-Chiga Road.

The suspect, identified as Tyson Ondiek, 25, had been linked to a series of robberies in the area.

He was also linked to the murder of a man in Omungi area and was a jailbird, police said.

A mob confronted and stoned him to death before setting his body on fire, police said.

The body was later picked up to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.

Elsewhere in Kware, Nairobi, a suspect was stoned to death over claims he was a thief.

The mother of the victim identified as Thomas Mwangi, 22, said she tried to save his life in vain.

She found him tied both hands and legs and bleeding before she rushed him to the hospital where he succumbed to the injuries.

Police said they are investigating the incident.

Police discourage mob lynching and want suspects be surrendered for processing and prosecution.

Police say they have intensified operations in several parts of the country to address crime incidents.

This has led to the arrest and prosecution of dozens of suspects on a daily basis. The cases are pending before several courts, police said.
