Nairobi has been declared the new epicenter of a global peace movement following a historic summit that brought together faith leaders, dignitaries, and peace advocates from around the world.

The gathering unveiled a transformative vision for Africa and beyond, with His Eminence Prof. Dr. Madhu Krishan, Chairman and Chief Rector of the United Nations University for Global Peace USA, serving as the chief guest.

Prof. Cletus Bassey, Chancellor of Lead Impact University USA, was the guest of honour.

Bassey reminded delegates that Africa is witnessing a new shift rooted in the role of the church.

“African continent where we are seeing a shift, not political, not military, but from a very standpoint of the church and giving an unveiling event that is telling us about a movement that is catching up from Kenya throughout Africa to the nations of the world,” he said.

Krishan, hailed as a global citizen and leader for his decades-long work nurturing peace builders, said the mission is to teach and practice peace with sincerity and fairness.

“Our purpose of coming here was to begin to unfold this new movement of speaking peace, teaching peace, and practicing peace. Our African continent can begin to experience peace. And the peace that comes with genuineness, truthfulness, justice, fairness, and equity,” he said.

He explained that his work over the past 40 years has focused on producing peace builders who transform into nation builders.

“Our main goal and main focus from last 40 years, we are producing peace builders and ultimately a transformed community of peace loving, peace-living and peace-practicing community so that our transformed people, those who are transformed through our peace ambassadors, they become nation builders,” he said.

Reflecting on global conflicts in regions such as Palestine, Israel, Russia, and Ukraine, Dr. Krishan underlined the importance of peace in overcoming deep divisions.

He declared that Kenya now stands as the epicenter of this global peace mission.

“Say this gospel of the peace to the whole world. So now from today, from Kenya, let it become the epicenter to preach, to proclaim the gospel of peace to the whole world,” he said.

According to Dr. Krishan, 69 prime ministers have already signed peace agreements and memorandums of understanding with his organisation.

Kenya, he revealed, is in the final stages of signing its agreements.

He also announced plans for a major Sports for Peace initiative in collaboration with the Government of Kenya, starting with cricket to bring together people from different nations.

“Our people, our team is working with the Kenya government. Very soon, in collaboration with the Kenya government, we are going to hold, organize a big program of sports for peace, bringing people for the sports from all the nations,” he said.
