ALL IS NOT well at a police training campus. Reason? Officers
undergoing promotion courses, some over 45 years old, claim they are being
treated worse than recruits. Constables-turned-instructors are reportedly
abusing and punishing senior officers, even those old enough to be their
fathers, citing directives from their superiors. Field recreation has allegedly
been turned into punishment, while the sick face open discrimination. With
courses dragging past midnight, tedious exercises, meagre rations and endless
fatigue, many are now asking why their training is harsher than similar courses
in the other two training colleges.
