Digital strategist and political commentator Pauline Njoroge has addressed swirling online speculation that she was involved in breaking up a marriage.
Pauline dismissed the claims as “manufactured tea” and urged Kenyans to respect the privacy of families. Tea is slang in Kenya used to mean gossip.
Viral reports allege Njoroge is romantically linked to businessman Charles Wairumbi, who is alleged to have married his high school sweetheart in 2013.
The couple reportedly have three children.
The speculation erupted this week after social media users circulated photos purporting to show the wife and children of Njoroge’s alleged new partner.
The images, widely shared on Facebook and X, sparked a heated debate and a torrent of trolling directed at Njoroge.
On Friday, Njoroge took to her Facebook page to set the record straight.
“Since the tea masters have decided to make me the subject on these streets, let me make some things clear,” she wrote, before outlining her position point by point.
First, she denied playing any role in the collapse of a marriage.
“I did not participate in breaking up a marriage. Life happens. Sometimes two good people meet, try to build something together, and along the way, it doesn’t work out. They part ways, move on, and later meet other people with whom they start new chapters,” she stated.
Second, she rubbished claims that her partner was still living with or supported by another woman.
“He did not leave another woman at home, nor was he dressed by another woman to attend my function. That is the most ridiculous thing I have heard,” Njoroge said.
Njoroge stopped short of confirming or denying the identity of her partner, focusing instead on condemning what she described as malicious gossip.
“That’s all I have to say about this matter. Wishing you all a good day, friends,” she concluded her post.
Her remarks have since been widely shared, with supporters praising her composure and critics insisting questions remain unanswered.
