Mosiria, who spearheaded the man’s relocation from a roadside shack near the Railways Golf Club mid September, announced that the former street dweller has now been employed by Charlie Corp Ltd.
The company has offered him work at the Oyster Bay Restaurant and Charlie’s Motors in Lavington.
“Do you remember the Rasta man I rescued from the streets?” Mosiria wrote on X, sharing the update with his followers.
“He had set up an illegal structure along Haile Selassie Avenue, opposite Green Park. At the time, he appeared deeply troubled, but after some conversation, he agreed to accept my help.”
The man, who had spent 25 years living in squalor, first caught public attention in September when Mosiria documented his rescue and relocation.
After taking hi off the dilapidated spot, the county official rented him a house in Dagoreti South, bought essential household items, and introduced him to his new neighbours, who welcomed him warmly.
Through that act of kindness — and the viral video that followed — the man was eventually reunited with his family after more than 15 years apart.
Mosiria said he has since kept in touch to monitor his progress and described the transformation as inspiring.
“Over the past month, I have closely monitored his progress, and I’m happy to say he has shown great determination and commitment to turning his life around,” he said, adding that the man had even agreed to shave his long dreadlocks.
The County Environment Chief Officer thanked Charlie Corp Ltd for extending an opportunity that, he said, would enable the man to sustain himself and continue rebuilding his life.
“With this opportunity, he will now be able to sustain himself and continue building a better future. A heartfelt thank you to Charlie’s Company for this wonderful gesture — this is true service to humanity,” Mosiria said.
His intervention has drawn public praise as an example of how individual acts of compassion can make a lasting difference in the lives of the city’s homeless population.

The man’s story, once marked by hardship and rejection, has now become one of hope — a reminder that even the most forgotten lives can find redemption when someone chooses to care.
