JSC announces 221 job vacancies

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has announced 221 job vacancies across various tribunals and its graduate and diploma internship programme.

In a vacancy notice on Thursday, the commission invited qualified Kenyans to apply before the August 13 deadline.

JSC said the recruitment exercise is aimed at filling positions in several specialised tribunals as well as offering internship opportunities to graduates and diploma holders.

The vacancies include 20 positions in different tribunals and 201 internship opportunities.

Among the advertised positions is one vacancy for the Chairperson of the Sports Disputes Tribunal and another for a non-advocate member of the same tribunal.

The commission is also seeking to recruit a deputy chairperson of the Co-operative Tribunal and a non-advocate member of the tribunal.

Other positions include one Chairperson of the Capital Markets Tribunal and two non-advocate members of the same tribunal.

The JSC has further advertised one vacancy for a non-advocate member of the Public Private Partnerships Petition Committee.

In the Energy and Petroleum Tribunal, the commission is seeking to recruit one advocate member and one non-advocate member.

The recruitment also targets one medical practitioner to serve as a member of the HIV and AIDS Tribunal.

Additionally, the Commission has announced two vacancies for advocate members of the Financial Centre Tribunal.

Other advertised positions include one non-advocate member of the National Examinations Appeals Tribunal, four advocate members of the Tax Appeals Tribunal and two non-advocate members of the same tribunal.

The largest recruitment drive is for graduate and diploma interns, with the Commission advertising 201 internship positions.

"Interested and qualified persons are asked to visit our jobs portal: https://jsc.go.ke/jobs-2/ for detailed job descriptions, requirements for appointment and instructions on how to apply," the notice added.

The commission directed applicants to ensure their applications are submitted no later than 5pm on August 13, 2026.

It cautioned that only shortlisted and successful candidates will be contacted.

The JSC also warned that canvassing in any form will result in automatic disqualification from the recruitment process.

It further reminded members of the public that its recruitment services are free of charge and urged applicants to be vigilant against fraudsters who may seek to exploit job seekers by demanding payment.

The Judicial Service Commission is an independent constitutional commission established under Article 171 of the Constitution of Kenya.

Its mandate includes promoting and facilitating the independence and accountability of the Judiciary as well as ensuring the efficient, effective and transparent administration of justice.
