The next-closest country was Jamaica, with 12 overall.
Kenya and Great Britain both had 10, and Ethiopia had nine.
Faith Kipyegon bagged a gold brace in 1,500m and 5,000m respectively.
Mary Moraa also managed gold in the 800m, taking Kenya's gold medal tally to three.
