The government has been actively working to increase land ownership documentation in the country.
Data by the State Department for lands and physical planning shows the government issued 422,313 title deeds in the financial year ended June 2024.
Despite these efforts, a significant number of title deeds remain uncollected, with documents dating back to 2015 still pending collection.
To address this, the government continues to encourage landowners to collect their documents even as it works towards digitising land records to enhance efficiency.
There has been a concerted effort to digitize land records and streamline the issuance of title deeds in recent years.
