    In 2023, India led the way in energy efficiency with a score of 81 out of 100, followed closely by Romania (78) and Kenya (74).

    Several other countries also performed well, including Brazil and Iran, which both scored 72, and the United Arab Emirates and Jordan with scores of 71. The data highlights a strong performance from developing economies.

    Conversely, some nations showed significantly lower scores. The Democratic Republic of Congo and Turkmenistan each scored 14, while Angola received an 11.
