At the top of the list is artificial intelligence, cited by 43% of respondents, reflecting growing optimism about its potential to transform industries and improve daily life.

Biotechnology follows at 35%, suggesting confidence in advancements that enhance health and food production.

Climate engineering ranks third at 33%, highlighting the public’s awareness of technology’s role in combating environmental challenges.

Other notable technologies include 5G networks (29%), hydrogen/fuel cells (28%), and the Internet of Things (22%), all recognised for their contributions to efficiency and connectivity.

Emerging innovations such as self-driving cars, industrial robots, and humanoid/service robots each scored 20%, while quantum computing registered 19%.

The data underscores a global trend toward embracing technologies that improve quality of life, sustainability, and productivity, while demonstrating cautious optimism about newer, less familiar innovations.

As societies integrate these advancements, the focus remains on balancing technological benefits with ethical and societal considerations.
