Governor Mutahi Kahiga has issued an apology following a viral clip of his remarks on the late Raila Odinga.
He apologised to Odinga’s family, ODM, the Luo Nation, Kenyans, and political leaders, clarifying that his comments were not celebratory but made during a burial in his home village.
Kahiga said Raila’s passing sends everyone back to the political drawing board, noting his words were based on the saying, “God takes the best.”
He stressed the remarks were personal, not representing any group, and announced his resignation as Council of Governors vice chair, effective immediately.
