The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (Africa Talent Trends 2025) has identified the top ten most valuable skills for professional success in the future.
Leading the list is Artificial Intelligence (AI) proficiency, underscoring the growing need to understand and apply AI technologies. This is immediately followed by Data analytical skills, emphasising the necessity of interpreting and leveraging large datasets.
Beyond technical expertise, essential soft skills are highly ranked, including Leadership skills and the ability for Strategy and big picture thinking. Other critical skills include Technology/systems understanding, Problem-solving skills, and Entrepreneurial skills.
Rounding out the top ten are interpersonal competencies such as Adaptability and change orientation, Emotional intelligence, and effective Relationship building and team skills, demonstrating a balanced demand for both technological acumen and strong human-centric capabilities.
