Kenyan singer-songwriter and vocalist Masauti is making a comeback to the Kenyan music scene after a period of absence and inconsistent music releases.

Speaking in an interview at a local radio station on September 18, 2025, the artist addressed Khaligraph's claim that he is "lazy" due to his inconsistent song releases.

"Everyone has their own pace in life. I have my own plans, I had things that made it look like I was moving slow," Masauti said. 

"I can't say it's laziness, but there were things that were hindering me," Masauti added.

The artist acknowledged Khaligraph's observation of his inconsistency, but strongly rejected the claim that he was lazy.

Masauti cleared the air,  explaining that he had personal struggles, emphasising that they were not relationship-related.

He attributed his inconsistency in releasing music to the personal issues he was dealing with.

"In our family, I am the one who is depended on. So I had some things I had to solve at home, then come back to music," Masauti stated. 

The artist is now back to releasing music. His most recent song, "Assurance," featuring Khaligraph, premiered on September 18, 2025, on Masauti's YouTube channel.

The artist also gave his fans a reason to smile by announcing several collaborations in store as well as single releases.

He also stated that he is working on an album and an EP.

In collaborations, Masauti announced names such as Tanzania's Mbosso, Kenyan artists Iyanii, Watendawili, Gody Tennor, Tipsy Gee, and Fathermoh.

The artist also shared about being an independent artist.

being a prominent artist, Masauti does not have a manager. He prefers to work with a few trusted individuals rather than a structured management system.

"When you have a good team, things move," Masauti said about having a few individuals on his team.

Even though people approached him before asking to be his manager, the artist said that he felt the agreements and ideas were conflicting, therefore turning them down.
