Content creator and wife to Kenyan singer-songwriter Bahati, Diana Marua has distanced herself from Bahati's new direction in music.

In a statement posted on Diana's Instagram page, the content creator addressed Bahati's new content and informed the public that she is not associated with the new direction.

"I know many of you have seen the recent conversations and content around Bahati. While I respect his journey as an artist and the choices he makes for his career, I want to be clear - my focus is different." read a section of the statement.

"I am fully committed to my business, my partnerships, and the brands that trust me. That means carrying myself in a way that reflects responsibility, growth, and values I stand for. Out of respect for my family, my partners, and the people who look up to me, I will not be involved in the direction Bahati has recently taken in music." Diana's statement read.

In the closing part of the statement, Diana wrote;

"I believe in supporting one another, but I also believe in protecting my brand and the spaces I'm building. Thank you to all my supporters and partners who continue to walk this journey with me."

On  September 30, 2025, Bahati made a post on Instagram announcing the end to his 1-year musical break and the introduction of a new era.

"Welcome to Bahati's new era," he captioned the Instagram reel.

The singer-songwriter released his new music video for "Seti", which premiered on his YouTube channel on October 1 at 12 PM, one hour before Diana Marua's statement.

The song marks Bahati's transition from his previous works, introducing a more mature sound.

The video can be described as explicit, which may not be appropriate for the artist's younger audience.

Diana has seemingly distanced herself from this due to the explicit nature of the video, which is not what Bahati's fans are regularly used to in Bahati's music.

"OUT NOW #SETI MUSIC VIDEO ON YOUTUBE, NOT FOR PERSONS UNDER THE AGE OF 18," Bahati captioned an Instagram post announcing the release of the video shortly after the video's premiere.
