The second edition of the Institute of Public Finance (IPF) golf tournament has attracted 240 top golfers from Nairobi and its environs tomorrow at the par-72 Ruiru Golf Course.

The one-day event tees off at 6:30 am and will be followed by the afternoon tee at 12:30 pm at the 18-hole course for top honours.

Long-hitting Stephen Kungu, Atlanta Wamahia, Elias Kariuki, Thomas Mwaura and Esthwt Thal, all of whom emerged victorious in last week’s tournament at the same venue, will be among the golfers to watch.

“We are always eager to showcase our prowess against the top amateur golfers in the country,” said Kungu.

“I’m grateful to IPF for bringing this tournament back to our course. I’m certain we’ll pick up from where we left off last week. I urge golfers to show up in large numbers for a good round of golf.”

The Ruiru Sports Club has become a hub for corporate golf events, thanks to its well-maintained course and amenities that continue to draw golfers to the par-72 venue.

This weekend’s tournament is also supported by Prudential, Eland & Space Tours and Travel, Bank of Africa, Brics Insights, CIC Group, NCK Insurance Brokers, Fibercom Technologies and Epal Agencies.

“We expect a huge turnout this weekend. Our course is in pristine condition and our amenities offer a wide array of opportunities for golfers to enjoy themselves,” said Ruiru Sports Club captain J.K Muraguri.

He emphasised the club’s long-standing relationship with IPF, noting, “This tournament underscores our commitment to growing the game and the value we attach to partnerships that foster lasting relationships.”
