Ezekiel Wafula emerged victorious at the LSK presidential golf tournament held at the scenic Diamond Leisure Golf Resort in Diani.

Demonstrating consistency and tactical precision, Wafula outshone a competitive field to take home the top prize.

From the onset, the victor adopted a measured approach, playing conservatively on high-risk holes to protect his early lead, before tactically attacking shorter par-4s later in the round.

His ability to avoid costly mistakes such as double bogeys proved crucial in maintaining pressure on the chasing pack.

For his stellar performance, he was awarded a deluxe accommodation package for two at Lake Elmentaita Lodge.

Wafula highlighted his delight after claiming overall victory, noting that the tournament was more than a sport but a celebration of unity.

“I’m deeply honoured. This was not just a game of golf; it was a celebration of unity, discipline, and focus within our legal fraternity,” said a delighted Wafula after receiving his prize.

In the men’s category, Martin Oloo secured the top spot. Sean Omondi was second while immediate former LSK President, Eric Theuri, took the second runner-up honours.

The ladies’ category was equally competitive. Emelda Mutiso clinched the Lady Winner title, followed by Mary Wainaina and Moreen Alinaitwe as first and second runners-up, respectively.

“It was about keeping the right mental attitude and believing in myself,” said Mutiso. “I enjoyed the tournament; it was a great way to unwind and stay sharp.”

The coveted Gross Winner title, awarded to the most technically proficient golfer, went to Sammy Mulama, who played off a handicap of -1.

He earned a luxury accommodation for two courtesy of Cradle Hotel.

Held alongside the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) Annual Conference, the tournament offered more than just a sporting challenge. It was a celebration of camaraderie, professionalism, and the enduring bonds within the legal fraternity, rounding off a week of vibrant dialogue with spirited sportsmanship.
