Police Bullets have shifted their focus to a high-stakes away fixture against Vihiga Queens this weekend as they look to reset after suffering their first loss of the season to Ulinzi Starlets.

The Bullets fell 1–0 to the soldiers at the Police Sacco Stadium, a result head coach David Vijago insists has not dented his squad’s confidence. Instead, he believes it came down to missed opportunities. “The game was good,” Vijago said. “Football is a game of chances. If we get them, we must use them.”

He added that the two-week break before the match had disrupted their rhythm but remained upbeat about the team’s response. “We haven’t played in two weeks. We will prepare ourselves well and come out stronger,” he said.

Despite the setback, Bullets remain firmly in contention for the top spot, buoyed by two games in hand according to FKF-WPL weekly summaries. Their trip to Mumias is widely viewed as one of the defining fixtures of the month, and Vijago believes the timing is perfect for a strong reaction.

“This loss gives us motivation. We will be back to where we were,” he said.

The stage is set for a statement performance, with both sides entering the clash on the back of weekend defeats—an unusual position for two traditional title contenders.

Bullets are targeting a quick return to form, while Vihiga Queens seek stability after a bruising outing. Vihiga are coming off a 2–0 defeat to Kayole Starlets at the Stima Club Grounds, a match that stood out as one of the most intense of the weekend.

Lindah Kihara opened the scoring in the 30th minute before substitute Ashley Shilwatso sealed the result in the 75th. The defeat halted Vihiga’s momentum and exposed areas that need attention. Head coach Boniface Nyamunyamu said those issues have already been addressed.

“We made small mistakes, and Kayole punished us,” he said. “But we have corrected those issues.” Nyamunyamu expects an aggressive response from the Bullets.

“A wounded team is dangerous,” he warned. “Bullets will come hard. We must match their intensity.”
