KCB FC goalkeeper Elvis Ochoro says he is ready to help the club pursue silverware next season after winning the 2026 Mozzart Bet Cup Golden Glove award.
The former Nairobi City Stars goalkeeper was among the competition's standout performers, keeping four clean sheets as the Bankers progressed deep into the tournament.
Reflecting on the season, Ochoro credited his success to persistence and dedication. "As an individual, I feel very good. I can say it is just hard work and patience," Ochoro stated.
Ochoro played a key role in KCB's quarter-final win over Nairobi United, keeping a clean sheet and earning Man of the Match honours. "My concentration levels were very high throughout the campaign, and I credit that for the performance," he remarked.
While welcoming the individual recognition, Ochoro said his main ambition remains team success.
KCB enjoyed a strong campaign but missed out on their lofty ambition to fly Kenya's flag abroad after failing to secure the trophy, which Tusker FC went on to claim.
Ochoro noted that working with senior players has aided his development. "Working with senior players here has made things easy for me," the custodian said. He also emphasized that family support helped him through the season.
While accepting his Golden Glove award, Ochoro paid tribute to his mother, who was unwell during much of the campaign. "I am dedicating this award to my mother," Ochoro said during a post-tournament address.
The goalkeeper explained that his mother's recovery became a source of inspiration during difficult moments, helping him maintain focus and motivation. "She has been sick for a while, but she is now fine," he shared. "She keeps motivating me, and that is how I got to where I am today," he added.
Looking ahead, Ochoro said KCB have the quality to challenge for major honours next season. With pre-season preparations approaching, he believes the team can turn this season's lessons into success in league and cup competitions.
Reflecting on the mindset required during the tournament, Ochoro noted, "It won't be an easy match in the next fixture in the semi-final, but we will fight just as well as we did today. We have to win the Cup now."
