Areas to be hit by power interruption on Monday - KPLC

Several parts of the country will on Monday go without power for the better part of the day as part of Kenya Power's routine maintenance.

Kenya Power has announced interruptions of power supply in seven counties on Monday, March 17, 2025, between 9 am to 5 pm.

The interruption seeks to facilitate maintenance activities in order to improve the quality and reliability of supply in the affected areas

Some of the counties to be affected include Kericho, Bomet, Kisii, Migori, Homa Bay, Makueni and Nyamira.

Kericho County

Some of the areas that will face interruptions include the markets of Chemosit, Litein and Kapkatet, Tenwek Hospital, Kabianga University, Kabianga High School, Kabianga Dairies, and James Finlays.

Bomet County

Kenya Power listed the areas of Bomet Town, hospitals of Siloam, Tenwek Mission, Tenwek CTC, Longisa, Kaplong Mission, Ndanai Health Centre, Chelymo as those that will be affected.

The tea factories of Kisyet, Mara, Transmara Sugar, Evergreen, Sotik , Chebango, Stegro, Motigo, Tirgaga and Ndarawetta will also face power cuts.

Kisii County

In Kisii County, Kisii Town, Keroka, Keumbu, Marani, Suneka, Itibo, Igonga, Kegogi, Awendo, Rongo will be affected.

Migori County

The energy company has listed areas in Migori Town, Uriri, Kehancha, Isebania, Ndhiwa and Sori where power will be interrupted.

Homa Bay County

Homabay Town, Rangwe, Asumbi, Mbita, Rusinga Island, Magunga, Nyandiwa, Kiabuya, Adiedo and adjacent customers will be affected by the planned power interruptions.

Makueni County

The areas of Wote Town, Makueni General Hosp, Law Courts, Thango, Watuka, Malawi, Bosnia, Mwaani Boys & Girls, Shimo, Kaloski, Kusyombunguo and adjacent customers will also be affected.

Nyamira County

Areas affected include Nyamira town, Ikonge, Ngoina, Sanganyi, Kebirigo, Chabera and Miruka.

The interruptions will occur between 7 am to 5 pm.
