
Detectives are investigating an incident where the body of a man was found in a stream after he had been murdered in Ikobe village, Nyamira County.
The body of Peter Onganga, 29 was on Thursday found in the waters long after he had murdered.
Police said the man was killed elsewhere and the body dumped at the scene. The motive of the murder is however yet to be known.
The man was last seen in the area on July 28 and his relatives had been looking for him, police said.
The body had blood oozing from the eyes and mouth when it was discovered.
Police moved the body to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.
Elsewhere in Manywanda, Kisumu County, the body of one Brian Mwangala, 23 was found floating on river Awach after suspected murder.
Police said the body had bruises on the head which appeared swollen when it was found on Thursday.
The body also had blood oozing from the nose, mouth and ears.
The deceased was a herdsman employed in one of the homes there and had gone missing since July 29.
The body was retrieved and moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.
And authorities are investigating the death of a convict at the Migori Main Prisons.
Brighton Otieno, 19 died in hospital where he had been admitted following an illness, officials said.
He had been committed to ten years in jail for burglary and stealing.
Police said they were informed of the incident and they are, together with the prisons authorities, investigating the incident.
The man’s next of kin were informed of the death with plans to release the body to them for burial.
Meanwhile, a 44-year-old man is fighting for his life in hospital after suspected bandits attacked him with an arrow in a village in Borabu, Nyamira County.
The victim was attacked after he raised an alarm as an unknown number of bandits raided his home on Thursday dawn in Ensabakwa, Esise area, police said.
The gang was targeting about ten cows in his compound when he confronted them while screaming for help.
One of the attackers targeted him with an arrow shooting him in the chest.
Police said he was taken to the local hospital in serious condition as the gang escaped the scene.
Locals have complained about a slow return of cattle rustling incidents in the area amid calls for action to tame the trend.
