Police officers have arrested a suspect found in possession of dried material suspected to be cannabis sativa weighing approximately three kilograms in a swift operation conducted at the Watiti Roadblock on Monday.
The arrest followed a tip from a vigilant member of the public who reported a suspicious individual on a motorbike who appeared to be hesitant to cross the barrier.
Acting quickly on the tip, officers from the roadblock stayed alert for a motorcycle license plate number KMQZ 007K, and upon the rider reaching the roadblock, the officers promptly stopped him.
The rider attempted to evade the spike.
According to the police, the suspect was carrying a blue safari bag strapped to his back. He was subjected to a thorough search, where police discovered dried material suspected to be cannabis sativa

The suspect was immediately arrested and escorted to Bute Police Station, where he was placed in custody.
He is expected to appear in court today, August 5, 2025.

Meanwhile, Anti-narcotics unit (ANU) detectives on July 31, 2025, arrested two suspected
traffickers and confiscated 450 kilograms of cannabis sativa valued at
approximately Sh13.5 million.
According to
the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the detectives were acting on
a tip-off.
Based on the
information, they intercepted a Toyota Noah near the Delamere shop along the
Naivasha-Nairobi highway.
“The suspects, along with the motor vehicle, were escorted to Naivasha police station, where the vehicle was found to contain eight gunny bags and eleven bales of Bhang weighing 450kgs, all concealed and ready for distribution,” DCI said.
The suspects and the motor vehicle were later escorted to DCI headquarters for further processing ahead of their court appearance.
