President William Ruto would win the presidency if an election were held today, according to the latest Infotrak survey released on Monday.

The poll shows Ruto leading the presidential race with the support of 32 per cent of respondents, putting him well ahead of his closest rivals.

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka ranked second with 13 per cent, while former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i tied for third place with 12 per cent support each.

The survey also found that 13 per cent of respondents were undecided, making them a potentially decisive voting bloc ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Former Chief Justice David Maraga ranked fifth with seven per cent, followed by former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi at five per cent and Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah at four per cent.

Former Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa, former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria and NARC Kenya leader Martha Karua each garnered two per cent support, while other presidential aspirants collectively accounted for one per cent.

The survey also highlighted distinct regional voting patterns among the leading contenders.

According to Infotrak, Ruto enjoys his strongest support in the North Rift, where he polled 89 per cent, followed by Mt Kenya North (54 per cent) and the South Rift (46 per cent).

Kalonzo's support is concentrated in the Lower Eastern region, where he secured 66 per cent.

Matiang'i posted his strongest showing in South Nyanza with 41 per cent, while Gachagua dominated the Mt Kenya region, polling 68 per cent in Mt Kenya East and 62 per cent in Mt Kenya West.

Infotrak further found that Wamalwa's support was largely concentrated in Western Kenya, where he polled 26 per cent, while Omtatah performed best in Western (15 per cent) and Nairobi (nine per cent).

The findings suggest that although Ruto currently enjoys a clear lead, the presidential contest remains fluid, with several opposition figures attracting double-digit support and a sizeable share of voters yet to settle on their preferred candidate.

The survey was conducted between June 22 and June 26, 2026. It interviewed 3,000 adults.

Data was collected using a mixed-method approach that combined Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) and Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI).

The sample was selected using Probability Proportional to Size (PPS) based on the 2019 Kenya Population and Housing Census, with weighting applied where necessary to correct for over- or under-sampling.

The survey achieved a 99 per cent response rate and has a margin of error of ±1.79 percentage points at a 95 per cent confidence level.
