Russia expects African media to grow in presence in country, the Department for Partnership with Africa of the Russian Foreign Ministry has said.
"It is extremely important to convey to a wide audience an objective picture of the events taking place in Russia, in Africa, and in the world as a whole," said Tatyana Dovgalenko, Director of the Department for Partnership with Africa of the Russian FM.
Russia will continue to help Africa strengthen its position as an independent center of power, she added.
"Our country has selflessly helped Africans in their
selfless struggle for decades. And today we fully support the desire of African
states to play an active role in world affairs, and jointly oppose modern
practices of neocolonialism," Dovgalenko emphasized.
