President William Ruto has nominated six persons to serve as ambassadors, consuls-general and deputy heads of missions in Kenya’s foreign missions abroad.
Ruto has since transmitted the nominations for appointments to the National Assembly for consideration and approval.
A statement from the Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Felix Koskei said the changes are driven by the need to harness the opportunities within emerging sectors of the economy, as well as to address challenges affecting Kenya's social fabric.
Among those nominated is former Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha. She has been nominated for the position of Permanent Representative to the UN Habitat, Nairobi.
