In Summary

The electronic Government Procurement (e-GP) system is an online platform designed to streamline public procurement.

The portal allows state entities and suppliers to handle registration, planning, tendering, and contracting electronically.

Integrated with systems such as iTax, IFMIS, and AGPO, the e-GP is aligned with the Open Contracting Data Standard to enhance transparency.

Initially piloted between April and June 2025 among select entities, the system is being expanded across national and county governments.

It offers real-time access to tender announcements, bid submissions, evaluations, and awards.

On August 31, 2025, President William Ruto cautioned that officials unwilling to transition should step down.
