
Data from a wastewater analysis report released by NACADA on May 14, 2026, has highlighted the most commonly abused prescription drugs in Kenya.
According to the data, several medications show significant levels of misuse.
Diazepam tops the list, accounting for the highest percentage at 32.0%.
It is followed closely by Trihexyphenidyl at 24.0% and Amitriptyline at 20.0%. Additionally, Tramadol registers a notable presence at 16.0% on the chart.
Flunitrazepam records the lowest percentage among the featured prescription drugs, standing at 8.0%.
Together, these statistics provide a clear summary of the specific prescription medication variants identified within the wastewater analysis study.
