
Global consumers are feeling the pinch in 2026 as prices for several everyday goods and services continue to rise sharply.
According to data compiled by Visual Capitalist, heating oil has recorded the steepest increase, surging by 45.1 per cent compared to the previous year.
Gasoline follows closely with a 39.8 per cent rise, reflecting ongoing pressures in global energy markets.
Food prices have also climbed, with tomatoes becoming 31.1 per cent more expensive, while fresh vegetables have risen by 7.1 per cent.
The travel and hospitality sectors have not been spared, with airline fares increasing by 21.6 per cent and hotel and motel costs rising by 19.3 per cent.
Public transportation costs are up by 13.5 per cent, while consumers are paying more for apparel, coffee and footwear, which have increased by 7.8 per cent, 5.3 per cent and 4.4 per cent respectively.
The figures highlight the continued strain of inflation on household budgets worldwide, forcing consumers to spend more on both essential goods and everyday services.
