Prime CS Mudavadi meets Kenyans in Hungary

Prime Cabinet Secretary and CS for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Musalia Mudavadi on Monday met with Kenyan students and professionals in Hungary.

Mudavadi through his X account said the Kenyans shared their experiences and insights while residing in Hungary.

Mudavadi urged the students and professionals to uphold Kenyan values, deeming them as true ambassadors of the country.

"Had a great interaction with Kenyan students and professionals in Hungary, listening to their experiences and insights," Mudavadi said.

"I encouraged them to uphold Kenya’s values of hard work, warmth, and unity, serving as true ambassadors of our nation. The government remains committed to supporting them throughout their stay."

He was accompanied by Kenya’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to Vienna, Austria Maurice Makoloo.

Mudavadi is on a three-day trip to Hungary, where he is poised to sign several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) on Agriculture and Education.

This is in response to an invitation from his Foreign Affairs counterpart, Péter Szijjártó, who visited Kenya early last year.

During his time in Kenya, the two discussed issues of mutual interest between Hungary and Kenya. 

According to the CS, the two MoUs will cement Kenya and Hungary’s aspiration to promote bilateral partnerships and open up new avenues for collaboration in these areas and others, owing to the enormous potential available.

Hungary remains a key partner to Kenya, especially in the education sector, where they offer 200 scholarships annually to Kenyan students through the Stipenium Hungary programme.
