Kenyan singer-songwriter Iyanii has revealed that they are on a celibacy journey together with his new girlfriend, social media influencer Kemunto Diana.
In an interview on Alex Makideu Live, which aired on September 20, 2025, on YouTube, the new couple in town explained that they are waiting for marriage, while being on a celibacy journey together.
Iyanii shared that he has been seeing Kemunto for slightly over a week now. He went public and introduced Kemunto officially as his girlfriend at the MKisii Fest on September 14, 2025.
"You know, when you meet the right person, you don't need to know each other for a whole year. You can meet the right person and know this is the right person," Iyanii stated.
Despite being official, the two only share platonic intimacy. Iyanii revealed that he is still a virgin at 27 and is waiting for marriage.
"Right now I'm focusing on my music, let me put in work, get married, then we'll do it for the rest of our lives," the musician revealed this has been his response to previous partners who wanted to get intimate with him.
He revealed that he chose to be with Kemunto because she respects his choice of waiting for marriage. The artist also shared that when the two are sleeping on the same bed, they put pillows as a barrier between them, a rule they both came up with.
In terms of intimacy, the artist revealed that the two go no further than a five-second hug. This is a strict rule they have applied in their celibacy journey as a couple.
"When I met him, I was already on a celibacy journey. So I think it was a good thing for me because I was already practising it," Kemunto revealed.
The social media influencer revealed that their celibacy journey is part of their spiritual journey, and they are both willing to wait until they get married.
