Interior Principal Secretary (PS) Dr. Raymond Omollo has called on citizens, especially those from the Nyanza region, to remain united and support President William Ruto’s administration, saying the government is committed to equitable development across the country.
Speaking during a public function, Dr. Omollo reflected on the political journey of the region and the late Raila Odinga’s influence, urging residents to continue supporting the government that has ensured inclusivity in development.
“It is painful that we lost Raila, but by the time he was passing on, we were already in government where he had left us,” said Omollo.
“This is something we had wanted for years.”
He noted that President Ruto has demonstrated fairness by implementing projects across all regions without political bias.
“Ruto has our interests at heart, and he is not biased. He has ensured that every part of this country is developed without discrimination,” he stated.
Dr. Omollo emphasized that the Kenya Kwanza government has delivered on its promises, including improving roads, employing teachers, lowering fertilizer prices, and increasing access to electricity.
“This government is working for all Kenyans. It is only by supporting it that we will continue to benefit and live better lives,” he added.
The PS also encouraged leaders and citizens to focus on unity and progress rather than division and political rivalry.
“As a people, we must remain where we were left in government so that we can continue the development journey together,” he said.
Dr. Omollo’s remarks come amid growing political realignments in Nyanza, with several leaders expressing renewed cooperation with President Ruto’s administration as preparations for the 2027 elections slowly take shape.
