

The Kenya Meteorological Department has announced that some parts of the Nairobi Metropolis will experience heavy rains in the next 24 hours.
In a statement on Friday, the weather department said that isolated storms may also occur in the next 24 hours.
“Some parts of the Nairobi Metropolis may experience HEAVY (>20mm) to VERY HEAVY (>50mm) rainfall within 24 hours. Isolated storms may also occur—especially during the afternoon, evening, and morning hours,” Met said.
The weatherman further announced that rainfall is expected to persist over several parts of the country in the next seven days.
The department said isolated heavy rainfall events are also expected over some parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the South-eastern lowlands, the Coast, as well as North-western and North-eastern Kenya.
The Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley, which includes Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia and West Pokot Counties will experience rain in the morning, Showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and at night.
The situation will be the same with the North-western counties of Turkana and Samburu, as well as the North-eastern counties of Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo.
Highlands East of the Rift Valley, including Nairobi County, Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka and Nairobi counties will be cloudy with light rains in the morning, showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and showers at night.
The situation will be the same for South-eastern lowlands, including Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado and Taita Taveta Counties as well as inland parts of Tana River County.)
Coastal counties of Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale and parts of Tana River County will experience showers in the morning, afternoon and at night.
