In a candid post on X, McOure admitted that dropping French in primary school has come back to haunt him, as he now struggles with basic communication during meetings and discussions.
"Now I struggle in meetings with even the basics like introductions, and lag behind when it comes to reports," he said.
However, he expressed some relief, noting that most of the sessions he is attending will be conducted in English.
"Luckily, most of my sessions in Brussels will be taken in English," he noted.
Despite the language challenge, McOure said he is honoured to represent the ODM Youth League, especially at a time when the party is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
He welcomed the experience as an opportunity for personal growth, stating that he is proud to fly the ODM Youth flag on the global stage.
He also emphasised his gratitude for opportunities that push him beyond his comfort zone and allow him to engage internationally.
Kasmuel arrived in Brussels, Belgium, on Sunday for a series of European Union engagements.
These forums regularly bring together citizens, partners, and international stakeholders to discuss a wide range of policies and strategic matters.
The meetings, which began on September 15, are scheduled to conclude on September 19, 2025.
The sessions include discussions on strengthening partnerships and addressing global issues through dialogue and cooperation.
Kasmuel is known as one of the young activists who became a prominent face of the Gen Z protests in Kenya following the enactment of the controversial Finance Bill 2024 by members of parliament.
He was among those who led the anti-government movement both online and in the streets.
However, in November 2024, Kasmuel announced his decision to join the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
The Brussels sessions are focused on enhancing party structures, improving governance strategies, and ensuring the party aligns with evolving international standards.
Topics expected to be covered include democratic development, youth empowerment, and innovation in public policy, all key areas in ODM’s current reform agenda.
