Detectives have launched investigations into a series of killings reported in different parts of the country over the weekend.

In Narok Town, a 22-year-old woman was found murdered in her rented house in the Majengo area on Saturday, September 20, 2025.

The victim, identified as Maureen Wairimu Ngare, was discovered lying in a pool of blood with deep cuts on her hands, back, head and cheek.

A sword believed to have been used in the attack was recovered at the scene, alongside a mobile phone, according to police. The motive of the killing remains unclear.

Her body was moved to the mortuary pending postmortem and further investigations.

Elsewhere in Ringa, Homa Bay County, a domestic dispute turned deadly after two brothers fought over a maize plantation.

Police said John Ouko died from stab wounds inflicted by his elder brother during the altercation at their Omiro homestead. The fight was sparked by claims that Ouko’s cows had destroyed the brother’s maize crop.

The suspect allegedly stabbed Ouko in the chest and back with a kitchen knife, killing him instantly. He later surrendered at Ringa Police Station and is expected to be charged with murder in court on Monday, September 22, 2025.

In Chesikaki village, Cheptais, Bungoma County, another fatal incident was reported at a local bar. Police said Patrick Wakwama died after he was struck with a walking stick by a security guard during a confrontation. The motive for the altercation was not immediately clear. The guard has since been arrested and detained on murder charges.

Police confirmed all three bodies were transferred to local mortuaries pending autopsies as investigations continue.
