Interior Principal Secretary, Raymond Omollo, has confirmed that preparations for this year’s Mashujaa Day celebrations are complete, with Ithookwe Stadium in Kitui County fully ready to host the national event.
“As the nation continues to celebrate the life and legacy of one of its greatest heroes, the Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, a true Shujaa whose courage and conviction shaped Kenya's destiny, the spirit of endurance he championed lives on in the government projects that continue to unite and uplift our people,” Omollo said.
The Principal Secretary noted that the newly completed Ithookwe Stadium is a symbol of national unity and progress.
“Ithookwe Stadium in Kitui County now stands fully complete and ready to host this year's Mashujaa Day celebrations on Monday, 20th October,” he stated.

“Beyond the celebrations, Ithookwe will remain a home for sporting excellence, cultural expression, and youth empowerment,” he added.
He said the stadium will offer young people opportunities to explore their talents and develop their potential.
“It will give young athletes the chance to train, compete, and shine, unlocking doors to professional opportunities both locally and abroad,” he said.
The PS also highlighted the economic benefits the stadium will bring to Kitui County and its surroundings.
“In doing so, the stadium will breathe new life into the local economy, energizing small businesses and the hospitality and transport sectors, thereby transforming Kitui into a vibrant hub of talent, unity and progress,” Omollo stated.
