A lawmaker eyeing a top county seat is seething with rage
after elders blocked his attempt to test his political strength ahead of the
2027 race. He had hoped to supposedly use the just-concluded by-election as a trial
run, but was dealt a blow when community elders rejected his push to field a candidate. The legislator wanted the by-election to gauge his influence, but the elders ruled that the seat should remain with the family whose kin held it before the vacancy occurred.
