Deputy President Kithure Kindiki on Friday took the
government's economic empowerment programme to Sololo in Marsabit County.
The Deputy President graced the event, which targeted
women's groups and SACCOs in Jambalaya Fachana, Marsabit County.
The national empowerment agenda aims to uplift small
businesses, create jobs, and strengthen rural economies across Kenya.
It is part of the Kenya Kwanza administration’s commitment
to economic inclusion.
Among the flagship initiatives is the NYOTA Grant Programme,
which provides Sh50,000 grants to 70 small businesses in every ward.
The grants are coupled with business mentorship and operate
in synergy with the Kenya Jobs and Economic Transformation (KJET) programme,
targeting grassroots entrepreneurship and job creation.
