Kenya’s Nyayo National Stadium has sold out all tickets ahead of the National football team, Harambee Stars match against Gabon set for Sunday, March 23, 2025.

This follows calls by a section of Kenyans and the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) to Kenyans to turn up in numbers as a show of support for the national team.

Announcing the sellout, FKF thanked Kenyans for their unwavering support even as it urged them to not only buy tickets but show up to support their national team.

“All tickets for our FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Gabon are officially Sold Out! Your unwavering support means everything!

“Let’s paint Nyayo red, black, and green this Sunday. Come cheer the team and let your voices be heard your energy could make all the difference,” FKF said on X.

This comes just a few days after Harambee Stars came from two goals down to draw with The Gambia at the Alassane Ouattara stadium in Abidjan on Thursday night.

The game went into halftime with the two teams tied at nil-nil after Stars keeper Ian Otieno saved a penalty to ensure the scores remained 0-0.

While Kenyans are known for their love for different sports, the country has been struggling to fill stadiums when games are played.

Sunday’s match marks a crucial moment in Kenya’s campaign to qualify for their first-ever FIFA World Cup.

The East African country currently sits fourth in Group F with six points from three matches, Harambee Stars trail leaders Ivory Coast by 12 points.
