President William Ruto was warmly welcomed in Laikipia county on day one of his five-day development tour of Mt Kenya region.

Come Tuesday, Ruto flagged off the Last Mile Connectivity Programme in Laikipia county to set the tempo of the high octane visit, coming six months since he was last in the region.

The President also officially opened the rehabilitated Ng'arachi Comprehensive School.

He also delivered a school bus to Dr Wachira Secondary School, Kiamariga, and handed over car wash machines to boda boda operators from the county to boost their incomes.

The President later visited Nanyuki town where he interacted with residents and launched development projects.

He inspected the Sh350 million Nanyuki Modern Market, toured the Nanyuki Affordable Housing Project
