
Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Hussein Mohammed has said that fans who want to watch the African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournaments to be at the stadium five hours early.
This, he said, will help to facilitate quick verification, entertain fans and be ready for the match early.
He urged Kenyans to cooperate with the security stewards on the ground to continue succeeding together.
“Fans should be at the stadium five hours before kickoff with their ticket ready on their mobile phone for quick verification. Don’t wait for the last minute. If you are trying to come to the stadium at 2 pm and the match is at 3 pm, for example, you are too late,” the FKF President said.
“Please come to the stadium early, there is plenty of entertainment. Come, sit and watch the game comfortably.”
The FKF President further stated that everyone must follow all the security guidelines from the event officials at all times.
“Please follow the direction of the stewards of security personnel and everyone on the ground as you are directed. This enables free flow of people in and out of the stadium; it guarantees your safety and security,” he added.
Mohammed said the future of football in Kenya depends on our collective responsibility and cooperation.
“Continued security breaches risk attracting severe sanctions from the relevant authorities, sanctions that would ultimately deny Kenyan fans the chance to enjoy such events in the future and erode the gains that we have already achieved in the recent past,” he said.

Following the repeated and serious security lapses during Kenya’s home matches at Kasarani Stadium, CAF has decided to impose immediate measures for upcoming fixtures in Kasarani involving the Host Nation.
Despite multiple warnings and previous sanctions, the necessary measures to control ticketless spectators, ensure effective crowd management, and fully comply with CAF security requirements have not been implemented.
