Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has celebrated his son Daniel after graduating from university.

The governor said she was proud of him for the hard work, discipline and determination throughout his education journey.

In a statement on her social media, Governor Ndeti said her son Daniel has made her and the entire family proud.

“Congratulations, my dear son Daniel, on your graduation! I’m so proud of you, not only for this achievement but also for the hard work, discipline, and determination that brought you here,” the governor said on X.

“I know your dad is smiling down from heaven, proud of the man you’re becoming. Keep soaring higher, this is just the beginning of an extraordinary journey of success.”

Governor Ndeti has etched her name in history as the first woman to lead Machakos County. She took office in August 2022 after two unsuccessful attempts in 2013 and 2017.

She first served as Member of Parliament for Kathiani Constituency from 2007 to 2013, where she became the first woman legislator from the area since independence.

During the Grand Coalition government, she was appointed Assistant Minister for Youth and Sports. She later returned to government as Chief Administrative Secretary in the Ministry of Transport in 2020.

She has often used her platform to encourage women to seek elective positions.
