According to Safaricom PLC, an M-PESA agent has several responsibilities.
They include registration of M-PESA customers, depositing cash into registered customers’ M-PESA accounts, processing cash withdrawals for registered M-PESA customers and processing cash withdrawals for non-registered M-PESA customers among others.
M-PESA turned 18 on March 21, 2025.
