The girls’ football final will be a Western region affair between three-time national champions Butere Girls' and Madira Girls'.
Butere Girls' easily dispatched Nyanza region champions Kobala Girls' 3-0 in the semi-final. Diana Anyango, Medrine Truphena, and Celestine Aludo were on target for Butere Girls'.
Madira beat debutants Nasokol Girls from West Pokot 2-1 in another semi-final played at Kakamega High School. Merceline Adhiambo and Mercy Masongo scored for Madira, while Naomi Mokeira scored the consolation for Nasokol.
In netball, debutants St Joseph’s Girls' Kitale, enjoying the support of their chief principal Rosebella Orwaru, upset last year’s finalists Bukokholo 48-40 in an entertaining game to book a date in the final against defending champions Oyugi Ogango.
Oyugi Ogango humbled former champions Kaya Tiwi 92-12 in the other semi-final.
National champions Kwanthanze Girls' will renew rivalry with East Africa champions Kesogon Mixed in the finals. Kesogon defeated hosts Bishop Sulumeti Girls' 3-0 (31-29, 26-24, 25-15).
Kwanthanze also had an easy ride to the finals after beating Soweto Academy by straight sets of 25-17, 25-12, 25-13 at Masinde Murilo University of Science and Technology (MMUST).
In the boys’ category, Cheptil High qualified for the finals after a straight sets (25-19, 25-16, 25-19) win over debutants Mwaluphamba from Kwale County. In the other semi-final, hosts Malava Boys' laboured to beat debutants Gogo Mixed 3-1 (25-19, 19-25, 26-16, 25-14).
In 3x3 basketball, Buruburu Girls' will face off with Tigoi Girls' in the finals. Buruburu Girls' edged Nyanza champions Ng’iya Girls' 16-7 in the semi-finals while Tigoi narrowly saw off Asumbi Girls' 13-11.
In the boys’ category, Sigalame High will lock horns with Pioneer School in the final at Kakamega Police Canteen. Sigalame beat St Joseph’s Boys Kitale 21-18, while Pioneer School saw off St Mary’s School Yala 21-12.
