President William Ruto’s aide, Farouk Kibet, has appealed to DAP-K candidate Seth Panyako to put aside campaign differences and work together with Malava MP-elect David Ndakwa for the sake of the constituency’s development.

Kibet, who played a central role in mobilising UDA grassroots networks during the campaigns, thanked God and the residents of Malava for delivering a hard-fought victory.

“Fanyia watu wa Malava kazi, wale walikupigia na wale hawakukupigia (Serve the people of Malava, those who voted for you and those who didn’t),” he told Ndakwa, urging him to serve all residents fairly and without discrimination.

Speaking after Ndakwa was declared the winner of the by-election, Kibet praised voters for turning out in large numbers and choosing a leader he described as focused, humble and ready to work.

Turning to Panyako, Kibet made an open appeal for unity and cooperation.

“Sahau ile maneno ingine, jenga Malava…tutaftie yeye kazi (Loosely translates to: Forget the other issues, focus on building Malava… and help us find him a job),” he said, noting that elections were now over and the priority should be rebuilding trust and accelerating development.

He added that he would personally petition President Ruto to consider Panyako for a government role.

“I will talk to the president to find him a job in government,” he assured, saying Panyako’s experience and commitment to public service should not go to waste.

Kibet commended the people of Malava for conducting themselves peacefully throughout the tense campaign period, saying their maturity showed the constituency was ready for issue-based politics.

He noted that the victory was a testament to the efforts put in by UDA’s local leadership, campaign volunteers and community elders who rallied behind Ndakwa following party primaries.

He lauded Ndakwa for running what he termed a disciplined, focused and respectful campaign, saying that the MP-elect had earned broad confidence by promising to prioritise continuity, unity and service delivery.

Kibet further urged residents to give Ndakwa full support as he begins his term, stressing that development could only be achieved through collective effort.

He encouraged the newly elected MP to quickly settle into office and begin addressing key priorities raised during the campaign, including roads, education, healthcare and youth empowerment.

The Ruto aide also applauded supporters from both sides of the political divide for maintaining peace, saying the by-election had set a good example for future contests in the region.

Ndakwa won the by-election with 21,564 votes against Panyako’s 20,120, securing UDA’s hold on the Malava seat.

Kibet became the most visible figure in Ndakwa’s campaign since he won the nominations.

His presence has electrified the Kenya Kwanza base and unsettled the opposition.

For nearly a month, he led dawn-to-dusk tours across the constituency, mapping out what many observers now describe as one of the most organised political offensives in recent by-election history.
